About the Central
Connecticut Bicycle Alliance (CCBA) About the CCBA The Central Connecticut Bicycle Alliance (CCBA) is a 501(c)(3) organization that promotes bicycle and pedestrian transportation because they are environmentally friendly, economical, and healthy activities. Our mission is to improve the bicycling and walking environment in our region and across the state. We believe that a healthy environment for non-motorized transportation and recreation is essential to the quality of life for Connecticut’s residents, and that this quality of life will attract visitors and new residents to our region. Advocacy by CCBA’s all-volunteer board and members has contributed to significant progress in making Central Connecticut a better place to bike and walk. Among the many places and activities where you will see CCBA at work are: · Bike and pedestrian advisory committees in area towns, like Hartford, West Hartford, and Glastonbury, among others. · The numerous and growing training and advocacy events focused on bike transportation for day to day needs, which are encompassed in CCBA’s Bike Everywhere program. · The successful inclusion of bicycling favorable legislation in this year’s transportation bill passed by the state legislature and signed by the Governor. · Advocacy for area biking and walking trails, like the completion of the East Coast Greenway in Connecticut. · Participation and support of the exciting Active Transportation Initiative directed by the Capitol Region Council of Governments. We need your help to keep this work going and to expand the reach of CCBA’s efforts. Please consider joining us today!
